Accrington Man Awarded £10,000 After Road Traffic Accident

A 20 year old maintenance worker from Accrington was awarded £10,000 following a road traffic accident.

He had been sat on the bonnet of a friend’s car when she suddenly set off at speed and then slammed on the breaks.  He was thrown into the road and landed awkwardly, putting his hands out to cushion the fall and as a result he sustained a broken left wrist.

With the help of Sara Linford on a ‘No Win No Fee Basis’ he was able to pursue his friend for compensation.  Liability was at first denied, with the driver’s insurance company arguing that he was to blame for the fall as he was sat on the bonnet when it was not safe to do so.  However after successful negotiations he was awarded £10,000 for his pain and suffering plus legal costs on top.
